Are you sure that you don't have a K2006 kit instead of a K2005? How are you testing chlorine readings past 5ppm with a K2005 kit?

A K2005 kit cannot measure high chlorine levels. In fact, it will bleach out at high levels and appear that there is no chlorine sometimes when the chlorine might actually be very high. If that really is what you have, you can order an add on kit -- Taylor K1515, and it will give the test that your kit is missing that the K2006 that we recommend has.
