Is that mustard algae in the next to the last photo? Are they charging extra for that?

Be sure to follow the builder's instructions on maintenance during the first 6-8 weeks that the pool is curing ( you said similar to pebble-tec). pH may well rise constantly, requiring additions of muriatc acid. You may also need to maintain calcium levels in the water as instructed. Ironically, new concrete pools may do well with tri-chlor tabs as they add acid and stabilizer (CYA) as well as chlorine.

Fun! Take pictures! Are you still going with the in-ground cleaning?

Yes, still going with the in-floor. We wanted this to prevent any issues with our dogs swimming and for the supposed efficiency and "looks".

Seems those "In-floor" cleaners fail an awful lot. We are constantly seeing posts here from people having problems with them. You may want to get a robotic like a Blue Diamond instead. I swear by mine, and it pulls out EVERYTHING! Even though a BD is expensive (about $1500) it's got to be cheaper than the "in-floor".

Do realize that a dog is many, many times dirtier than a person, something like 30x according to my vet, who does water-therapy for dogs.

    But....it's your pool.
