I like to use a powerwasher 1-2x a season, staying well above the surface to not damage it. It doesn't take much pressure to remove dirt. While I have never tried it, if I were to use a detergent, I would start with dishwasher detergent in a bucket of water to avoid the bubbles. It just seems like too much work to me to wash the entire deck by hand.

    IMHO,

Liquid dish cleaner (like Dawn, Joy, etc.) makes LOTS of bubbles, but a dishwasher detergent (like Cascade) does not. I would not use anything near my pool that makes lots of bubbles if it me. Just my opinion.
