Default Hoping for a two way street

Thanks for this forum. I am an engineer by trade and amateur pool maintenance guy for one pool - mine. Sometimes I run into some sticky situations in my pool (4 kids and a yellow lab). Hoping to gain some wisdom and maybe, even if by accident, offer some wisdom.
