Default Concrete Walls for Vinyl Liner IG Pool

Almost all of the IG pool builders in my area do vinyl liners. All the ones I talked to use steel walls. I was wondering if anyone has steel reinforced concrete walls for their vinyl liner pool. If so, how thick are the concrete walls?

The walls in this process are 10". I was wondering if they could be less.

Default Re: Concrete Walls for Vinyl Liner IG Pool

Our new pool was built with a gunite/rebar shell, and then a vinyl liner dropped in. In our area (SC) vinyl pool builders do it all sorts of ways. This was the most expensive of the vinyl options, but seemed like the most sturdy. I believe our walls are 8" thick. They did not use forms, they set up the rebar, and then blew the gunite in using a sprayer.
