Default DIY - AG Shower/Rinse Station on a budget

We have had enough issues with people in our past pools with all of the lotions, hair products, and just plain dirt/grass getting into the pool. We wanted something to help keep it tidy, but having a bucket/pan of water or just a plain old hose nearby was sloppy looking. Plumbing in/building a nice shower would be the best idea, but after building/installing the new AG pool, panels, solar reel - wow, where did the $ go?

We found an aluminum based wand sprayer hose attachment that is shaped very similar to the popular natural rain shower heads (called Gentle Shower Wand) and has a 32" handle on it with a twist on/off on the handle ($6). A simple Y shutoff valve attachment ($2) to the hose hydrant, ran an extra hose ($9) over to the site up through a 1 1/2" pvc pipe, secured with some clamps, mounted adjacent to 4 12x12x2" patio blocks ($1.29 each). The blocks are laid with a slope runoff to the yard/woods so there is no standing water near the pool, all is close enough to the pool entrance to clean off and jump in.

It doesn't look bad either - actually kind of decent and the blocks match those around the area! The "shower" is not technically heated, but after sitting in the hose for any amount of time, its usually fairly warm or at worse, tolerable for the few seconds it takes to rinse off for the pool! So far it works, in practice with a LOT of teenagers or guests, we don't know. Its gotta be an improvement over that pan of water we used to dip our feet in - YUCK!

I just saw an awesome outdoor shower and sprayer at the HD - first time I saw it was this morning.....
I believe it's identical to teh one at walmart - budget priced too!

google outdoor showers and you'll find them priced between 40 and 1500.00

Oh, and that pan for the feet - I also know that all too well, after about 3 kids rinsing in it, kid 4 manages to accumulate all the grass and dirt kid 1 to 3 washed off and drag it into the pool anyways!
On hot days, my dog however, happens to like that pan (when it's clean)

Backyard Gear Shower Station: Walmart $49.99 - HD $69.99. Those look nice!

I'll get some pix of mine on here if I get a chance. Actually looks OK and better looking than the tri-pod one I found when I Googled. I have probably less than $20 all told in extra materials I didn't already have around, so I guess I feel OK about that. After looking at all the others online, I see shelf may be a good idea to add to mine though

Another thing you can do is add hose to the system. As you have found just sitting there it will warm up to the outside temp. If you just add another 50 or 100 feet it will be warmer a lot longer. And if you buy black hose it can get very warm or even to hot in some cases

For our kids outside pool (100 gallon play pool) I have a waterfall pump attached to 200 feet of black hose. On a sunny 75F day I can get the pool to 95F!
