Yes. Even when it rains, you gotta take care of the pool! Rain does not cause algae. It is caused by not checking the pool when it is raining.
Keep it at shock level consistently until you can go from sundown one evening to within an hour or so of sunrise without losing more than 1ppm of chlorine AND you have no greater than 0.5ppm of CC AND your water is clear. Brush the pool while the chlorine is high and continue to run the pump 24/7 while you are working to clear it and backwash as needed. I assume you have a K2006? Please add that to your signature.
