DE filtration

Can DE be used in a skimmer of a pool that does not have a DE filtration system?

We have a Hayward Super Star system and already cleaned the cartridges, got the pump repaired and put green to clean in my pool (it was horribly green, and happens quite often) . I need to remove the setiment at the bottom of the pool manually but my circulations weak.

Saw a video of someone putting DE the skimmer to make circulation stronger but I don't have a DE filter system. Is it safe to put in my skimmer and will that make circulation better?

You cannot use DE in a cartridge filter pool. You CAN add a little DE to a sand filter pool.
