    Default Coated, Sticky Pucks

Upon opening the chlorinator to add some trichlor pucks I found the partly spent pucks coated with a amber/yellow substance. It stuck to my fingers like tree sap and like tree sap soap would not wash it off.
Like tree sap WD40 was needed to remove it from my hands.
Any idea what it is? I have only used pucks and borax this season. No other chemicals.

The inside of the chlorinator is also coated with this water insoluble goo.
Any ideas as to what is causing this? Pollen?
