Red face New pool owner - Pump Question

    Hello All,

I just purchased a new home and am a lucky owner of a beautiful pool. I am interested in purchasing a pentair variable speed pump to replace my current pump to cut electricity costs since it is expensive in my area. My question is whether I can also eliminate my booster pump which powers my polaris 280 sweep? Any feedback or setup advice you may have is greatly appreciated!!! I would like to post pics of my setup but it does not appear I have access to do that yet.

You may want to consider a 2-speed pump instead as the electronics of a VS are HIGHLY susceptible to power surges and brown-outs. There is a small gain in efficiency between a VS and a 2 speed, but 2 speeds are far more robust.

I will work on uploading pics to photobucket so I can attach pics. I also submitted the entry form under the escape moderation option to hopefully gain access to the whole forum soon. Thanks!
