    Low CYA will definitely cause you to have trouble maintaining a chlorine reading. On the other hand, having something organic in your pool can also cause a big chlorine demand.

    Post some current water testing results taken with your K2006 and somebody here can take a look and try and help.

    Meanwhile, go get a cheap OTO / phenol red drops kit and 6 gallons of PLAIN 8% Walmart bleach (for each 10K gal in your pool). Start dosing with 1 gallon per 10K gallons (~8 ppm) and MAINTAIN orange-tinted yellow OTO results (off-scale!) till you get the K2006 . . .
