Default how to clean the solar cover when it's filthy

The top of our pool solar cover is caked with pollen and other debris from trees. What is the best way to clean one? Each time I have to take it off or put it back on, I wind up with junk in my pool. It is quite disgusting.

I know what you mean. While the cover is on the pool, I just use my hose and wash everything off as close to the skimmer as I can. Some of it makes it into the skimmer but inevitably, lots ends up in the water and then on the floor. Nothing really you can do about it. Just gotta vacuum it up.
