My Hayward heater ran for about 2 hours this spring and then blew the #2 position fuse on the AC supply side. I found a troubleshooting manual online and it led me to replace the control board (~$200 bucks) but still blowing fuse 4 when the motor starts to kick in. The wiring diagram in the troubleshooting guide shows only the control board, ignitor, and blower on this fuse. The ignitor resistance seems good and the blower motor turns freely and doesn't seem to have excessive play. The winding resistance is unbalanced when measured from each line to the common. Is this normal or does it indicate a bad motor?

Anyone run into something similar? Trying to narrow this down before dropping another load of money on it.

Thanks

Steve
