Yep, Ben's kit tests up to 50 ppm by a color change from pink to clear.

So I added 3 gal of bleach last night to shock the pool to 15 trying to head off a problem that may be brewing. It's too high to read on my little HTH kit so I did the shot glass method. So now my color is in between the 3-6 and 5-10 range. This means I have somewhere between 6 and 30ppm. Wow, that's helpful. Is Ben's kit any better at pinning down an exact ppm?

I'm afraid my eyes aren't cut out for this, can you easily pinpoint the ppm?
It is much easier with the DPD powder test in Ben's kit. The color change is obvious for most people.

The OTO test is hard to match the color as I find the shades get pretty subtle above 2. Ben's test kit has the OTO test but also has an FAS-DPD test which is the test Janet talks about. That one is much easier to be accurate with as you add drops of a reagent until the color of the solution changes so it is easy to nail down an exact measurement.
Ben sells the FAS-DPD test as a separate item on the poolsulutions page if you don't want the buy the whole kit.

Thanks all, can't wait to get the kit. It's our first month with our first pool and it sounds like the end all and be all.
Shelley
sounds like you're all set. Happy swimming!
