We finished our new IG, 11,000 gallon, plaster pool and spa with a SWG, in September 2005. The first thing I did was fire the pool man that came with it. So I have been taking on the job myself, at the beginning I seeked help from our local Leslie's pool store and realized at best I was getting inconsistent service when testing water samples. I have since found this site via howibuiltmypool site, ordered Ben's kit(still waiting for it to arrive) and ready to get some advice. My test #'s are as follows:
FC-3.0 TC-3.0 PH-7.2 TA-50 CA-350 CYA-25
My TA is low so I added 2 Lbs. of Baking soda and will re test tommorow. I am looking to get this in the 80 - 120 range.
That is the only adjustment I have made since this testing.
I feel the CYA is slightly low, Is it and What is the best way to increase this? Triclor tablets?
I feel the CA level are too high, I would like to see these numbers in the 180 - 220 range. I have lowered the PH and started heavy areration with our waterfalls and spa jets. Do I want to add Leslie's stain and scale enhancer? We did get some scaling on our cement rock sides, our pool as no tiles.
Any and all comments are appreciated.
