    Default Light Teal Pool

Our pool is light teal and we have put every chemical known to man in it and it will not clear up. All the levels in the pool are where they should be. The chlorine is high b/c we have put so much in (recommended from the pool store). If you put something in the water you can tell the water is clear until you get a little more that 1/2 way down and that is where the water is colored. The liner is not stained and the fitler seems to be working just fine. (the pool was a much darker green when we started this proccess) It cleared up tremeandously but is stuck at this light teal color where it has been for weeks. Any thoughts?

Yes, my initial thoughts are that your first sentence is probably most of the problem!

Pool stores love to sell products. People who are new to owning pools have nothing to do other than trust pools stores advice and willingly buy those products. However, most of the time those products do nothing to help solve the problems and in fact often cause the problems.

We are going to need more information to be able to help. Please repost with the following:
    1. What kind of pool is this? Please include the volume.
    2. Exactly what all have you added to the water? Please give ingredients and not just product names like 'shock.'
    3. Do you have a drops-based test kit? If so, what?
    4. What size of pump do you have? What kind AND size of filter do you have?
    5. Is this a new pool that was just filled this season or not?

Go to Walmart and get several jug of their generic 8.25% bleach and a couple of boxes of 20 Mule Team Borax (in the laundry aisle). If you don't have a drops-based kit, see if they have an HTH 6-Way kit (NOT the 6-Way test strips, though). If they don't, get an OTO/Phenol Red kit (yellow and red drops).

Re-post with some current numbers and tell us what kit was used to get them. Then, someone here can try and help you get this cleared up.

    Welcome to the Pool Forum!
