Hi everybody, just bought a house with the pool. I think I have a sand filter. But now, it's not working I wish I could post pictures.

Hi and welcome to the Pool Forum! Tell us about your pool. You can post pictures by using Flickr, Photobucket, etc.

    A few questions for you:

What is the condition of your water.
Why do you think the filter is not working?
What size is the pump and what size is the filter (how many lbs. of sand does it hold?)
Do you have a test kit and if so, what kind?

The water is actually in a good condition. It is not pumping water. The pump is working, but no water. I have no clue what filter is it. I know it's a sand filter but I don't know what kind. I don't even know how to open and clean this. I am very new to pools and filters. Below is the pictures.

I don't recognize that filter, at all.

But I'd guess it's a DE filter, not a sand filter.

Regardless, you'll need to open it and check it. CAUTION: you MUST release the air before you open it; otherwise there is the possibility of the lid exploding in your face!
