Looking for advice for pool treatment before leaving town for 8 days.
13,700 gal Doughboy
I had my liner replaced 2 weeks ago and my fill water has high TA levels, right at 250-270.
Last year I did the bio-guard stuff but this year I am trying to go the bleach route to avoid the high CYA level of 100 last year.
Over a period of about 6 days I have added about 3 gallons of acid, usually 24 oz at a 30 minute interval 2 to 3 times a day.-aerated pool with (2) 1000 gallon per hour pond pumps, running 24 hr ea day for the last 5 days, didn't aerate first day, and my pool pump runs 24/7 same as last year.
Currently my readings are " pool totally clear"
CF 5.6
PH 7.4
TA 180
Borate 30
CYA 50
CH 150
Initially I was useing borax to raise PH back up, but noticed my TA was was stalled or raising so I quite that. What a long process this has been.Hope I have been doing the right things since switching away from pool store chemicals?
Hope all the acid wont damage liner,I have added in front of return and then brushed the pool floor below that area.
Also, We are leaving in 6 days for 8 days and doubt I can get someone to add bleach daily to keep chlorine levels up.
I have an arsenal of chemicals since being a 1 1/2 yr. newbie.
Put solar cover on while away and turn off pond pumps or leave them running without cover to aerate? I doubt if TA will be down to 100-130 in the next 4 days to quit aerating.
I do have all kinds of shock powder,8.25% bleach,12PPM chlorinating liquid,Bio-guard silk sticks( but don't want CYA going up again to 100) Algae this- algae that
Just looking to see what the experts would do to avoid some other issue to face when I get home.
Also using a skimmer sock that I clean everyday, may take that out while away.Sorry for the long post and list of questions.
