Default June 1 UPDATE: I drained my pool 100 perecnt and refilled about 2 months ago......

Let me start by saying thankyou for your help, guys, and having a babysitter help me in the beginning was worth the dough. Things are looking great. Just ready to take it to the next level if necessary. I will not be a pest, as I'm sure now that pools are in the swings of thing across the country, you must be busy.

Here is a link to original post for reference if needed.

Here are my new readings: (no wise asses, I know it's only May 31st)

    CYA 55
    CH 300
    TA 130
    pH 7.7
    CL 3ppm
    CC none

I've used liquid chlorine, liquid muratic acid, pills in a floater, and some shock to get it where it is.
I finally have a decent CYA reading, and the water looks clean as can be.
I will start using just liquid chlorine late afternoon, as sun dissapears from pool, as well as some liquid muratic acid.
It is at a point where balancing the CL and pH is easy, and not using as much as I used before.
I will try to cut out the pills in the floater unless I go away for a week or so.

So, how am I doing? CH is high, and no CC. Is this fixable or is it not important?

Here are my numbers for the month before: 5/9/2014

    CYA 20
    CH 250
    TA 130
    Ph 7.6
    CL 3ppm
    CC none
plaster 20k gal kidney shaped swimming pool with spa Hayward Vac, Nautilus DE filter, Raypak RP2100 gas heater.

Your numbers look pretty good. Some tweaking and you'll be perfect!

I wouldn't use any cal hypo as your CH is fine right where it is. (200-400 for your pool is fine.) Nor trichlor or dichlor since your CYA level is perfect and those two will make it go higher. Stick with bleach.

Do drop the pH a little and possibly even the TA a little. Though neither one of those is too high, you just want to be careful. High pH, TA and CH can cause scaling issues which you want to be sure to avoid.

I would also keep your chlorine just a bit higher. http://pool9.net/cl-cya/

All in all, it looks pretty good! Great job!
