Do have live algae in your pool? Live algae will clog a DE filter fast.
Welcome to the Pool Forum!
I recently cleaned out my DE filter and now when I start my pump the PSI is good at around 14-15, but after about 5 minutes it jumps to about 20 and I lose pressure. Can anyone help?

I just took the cover off my pool a few weeks ago and there was some algae that got into the pool. I was hoping to just vacuum it up. I do see some algae at the bottom of the pool on the deep end. How would I know for sure?
It would be green and your water may be cloudy depending on how bad the algae is. Sounds like if you do have algae, it is minimal.
Do you have a test kit? If so, what kind?
Is there a way to bypass the filter - maybe recirculate? A DE filter will clog quick with live algae. Get adequate chlorine in before the algae is not minimal.
