This comes up from time to time on the forum. I looked back and found a couple of links to some places that had previously been posted in a thread that explains the difference between mil and gauge that may be interesting for you to read.

Here is a little more info on picking your liner. The majority of the liners sold online are made by Swim Line, that's why the patterns look the same. If ordering online go with the 25 gauge, it is equivalent to a 20 mil liner. I consider the online 25 gauge liner to be a 5-7 year liner. It takes a good jump in price to get up into the ten year range, like the Doughboy 20 mil UD liner. The Doughboy 25 mil would get you a few more years but would cost a lot more and unless you are working in temps well over a hundred degrees that thick of a liner can be very hard to work with. If you are looking for a ten year liner I would recommend a name brand in a 20 mill.
