Default Need Help with my new Summer Escapes ProSeries 14' X 42" Metal Frame Swimming Pool

I heard so many good reviews in regards to this forum, alot of experts help us newbies, i tip my hat off to all you guys and gals

I am a first time pool owner and i was hoping i can get some great advice. My daughters have been asking Daddy to buy a pool for the longest time, so i decided to treat them.

I just purchased a Summer Escapes Proseries 14'x 42" metal frame pool, the pool comes with everything i need to set up this pool. It comes with a skimmerplus 1000 filter pump.

Many many moons ago 30 plus years ago, i remember jumping in a pool with so much cholrine my hair was like straw and my eyes were so red, i do not want to do that to my daughters. so i decided to also purchase the intex krystal clear saltwater 54605EG. Which brings me to the experts.

If no one minds i like to ask a couple of questions

    1. What do i need to install the intex krystal saltwater unit on my summer escapes pool?
    2. Do i need to upgrade the skimmerplus 1000 filter pump, i heard the filter pump is really not the best?
    3. is there anything you experts recommend?

My daughters thank you so much

Summer Escapes is an Chinese Intex knock-off that's imported mostly for Walmart and Sams.

Their products have had absolutely horrible customer support, and erratic product quality.

Tip #1: Get it up, filled and tested ASAP. The only real warranty you have is the 30-day return to Sams or Walmart.

Tip #2: Don't let it turn green. See the Super Simple recipe => http://pool9.net/ssr/

Tip#3: Summer Escapes has a lower volume and history than Intex, so I don't know about their pumps. But it's my understanding that the connecting Intex gear to Summer Escapes pools can be tricky.

Focus on getting up and running, first. THEN worry about modifying it!

Do what Pool Doc said. If everything is wonderful then - IF - you want to go the Intex SWCG route, it can be done. But you'll also probably have to use an Intex pump.

is the one I'd recommend. You can probably find it on Amazon.com about as cheap as anywhere, and if you buy it through Pool Doc's or WaterMom's blue signature box, it helps PoolForum. I'd also recommend disconnecting the "copper ionizer", IF!!! and only if you feel very comfortable in doing so. Copper is what turns blond hair green and can cause stains on your liner.

    Look over the manual
    http://slink.intexdevelopment.com/b2...R0_1407_EN.pdf

Keep in mind that you will probably need to enlarge the holes in your liner and will need to buy 2 plunger valves; 2 each of items 31, 32 and 33, one 34, and one 42; listed on page 4 of the manual. Intex is the best place to buy these parts that I found.

    Enjoy your new pool!
