    Default Water loss

I have a moderate sized in ground pool in the DFW Texas area. The pool is roughly 24 ft x 10 ft and 3.5 ft to 5.0 ft deep. The pool loses 1/2" to 3/4" of water every day. I have had a leak test performed and they could find no leaks. Could evaporation account for that amount of water loss?

Fill a bucket with water (mark the water level) and set it out on your pool step or on the deck beside your pool. If you lose the same amount of water in the bucket as you do from the pool in a certain time period, then it is from evaporation. If you lose more from the pool than the bucket, then you have a leak.
