Yes I remember removing that grid. It's dark here so I'll go look at mine tomorrow. I can't remember that white tube you mentioned. It is hot here. In the 80's. My pool is 52" by 33'. It's great to swim in but is alot to keep clean and can be a chore covering. I know I haven't spent near as much as some I know, because I have learnt so much on this site about the BBB method.
