    Default RRGeoSmith

Hi everyone, I used to belong to the forum years back but due to my job I didn't have much time to use it but I'm retired now and glad to be back.

My pool is an above ground that is 24' x 52''. It holds about 14500 gallons and I'm using a 3/4 horsepower pump with a sand filter. I also have the CYA level at about 30. Since I learned about the Pool Forum I've used nothing but 5% bleach and Muriatic Acid to maintain the pool. Before then it seemed like I never was able to keep it adjusted properly. The more store bought chemicals I bought and used, the more I needed to use them. If I need to shock I use just add enough bleach to raise the chlorine to around 10ppm and it works. Thanks again Pool Forum.

Glad things are going well for you! Sounds like you have things well under control. Hope you have a great swim season and again, welcome back!

(I'm surprised you can still find 5.25% bleach.)

Our local Big Lots sell 5% bleach for $1.50 a gallon and they always have a good supply of it. That's the cheapest I've found. To answer the other question that I overlooked, I think I went by RRGeoSmith back when I belonged to the forum years back. Thanks for the reply. It's good to be back.
