Ok, I thought THIS season's CYA disappeared. It's very normal for last season's to vanish over the winter even when your pool does not become a "science project". Mine does and my water is still clear.
OTOH, if you backwashed not long after you poured the CYA into the skimmer, you could have backwashed much of your stabilizer into the storm drains.

If your CH (Calcium Hardness) levels are low, there's no reason you cannot chlorinate with Cal-Hypo, and 68% is the good stuff. 48% (what WalMart sells) is worthless. Just don't pour in Cal-Hypo and bleach/Liquid Chlorine at the same time, and don't use Dichlor or Trichlor with Cal-Hypo at all.

may have been a problem as I bought some cheap 48% from Walmart ( headed to trash now) and I did put it in win with bleach. My pool is still clear just a smidge of yellow in a corner not much, Ill brush that. Is there a time when I can add 73% cal hypo in the bag to aid my pool or just leave it out? I don't know why I'm so messed up on this. My pool still looks clean. Thank you Dave

I only trust the k-2006 titration is better for me

    Hey dansdad,
I'm still kinda lost. It would help us all if you would make one post with a full set of readings (FC, CC, TA, CYA, CH). You don't need to redo them all FC and CC should be new - CYA is <30, TA and CH from the last time. also an inventory of all pool chems you have on hand (dichlor - %, Trichlor - %, Cal-Hypo - %, bleach - %, anything else). It may not be OK to throw out the Cal-Hypo. Also the pools present condition.
    Thanks
    Dave
