I'm confused about your chlorine readings. What size water sample did you use? 10 or 25mL?

I'm not sure how you could get a reading of 0.45 and 0.05. Just to verify that you ran the test correctly:
-- fill the tube to the 10 mL mark
-- add a scoop of DPD powder - R0870. (The directions tell you to add two scoops but if it turns pink with one scoop, you don't need the second one.)
-- add drops of R0871. Count how many drops it takes to turn the sample from pink to clear. (Swirl after each drop.) Multiply the number of drops by 0.5. This is your FC reading.
-- add five drops of R0003. Swirl it to mix. If it turns pink at all, add drops of R0871, swirling after each drop, til it turns clear. Again, multiply the number of drops by 0.5. This is your CC reading. (If it doesn't turn pink when you add the R0003, then your CC is 0 which is what you want.)

Hello.Yes, i wrote it all down and multiplied each sample per instructions. FC turned clear on the 9th drop X .05= .45 ? And the CC seems like it was a light pink after the 5 drops ofR0003.Then 1 drop of R00871 and it turmed clear. thus 1X.05 =.05? Ill retest again in the morning and post my readings again. Im confident I did it right but it was my first try so Ill make real sure on this test. Thank you for taking time out of your day to help a stranger.dncellis2

    9 x 0.5 = 4.5ppm FC
    5 x 0.5 = 0.5ppm CC

    Just a decimal place mistake.

They look pretty good. Keep an eye on your pH. You don't want it any lower. If it drops any, you'll want to use a little Borax to bump it up some. CYA is a little lower than you'll want. Aim for around 50. What are you using as your source of chlorine?
