Default Polaris 290 wall connection defective

The Polaris wall fitting connector assembly has a small outflow tube about 3/4 inch in diameter. The Polaris hose connects to that tube. I had broken mine trying to get it out after several years of service. I bought a new one 12/16/13 and it broke the next day. The outflow tube broke off. The vendor replaced it no charge. Yesterday, 5/7/14, the unit broke again. I have ordered another replacement.

I had heard somewhere that this unit had been redesigned. The tube may be too thin to manage to the hose.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with a Polaris "290" and couldn't find that model listed anywhere. Do you have a link to a Polaris or Jandy webpage describing it?
