    Default Cloudy Water

I'm seriously ready to throw in the towel and call it quits - never imagined I would have this much trouble and it would be such a hassle.

Long story short, had green swampy water coming out of winter. Have been shocking the heck out of out my pool for several weeks now and can't seem to clear it up. Water is now a cloudy blue (4-7 inches visibility).

Here's my latest numbers with Intex's recommendations in parenthesis:

    Copper .4 (.1 - .2)
    Free Chlorine 5 (.4 - 1.5)
    Combined Chlorine 5 (0)
    PH 8.0 (7.4 - 7.6)
    Total Alkalinirty 150 (100 - 140)
    Calcium Hardness 150 (200 - 400)
    CYA 60 (30 - 50)

Copper is high because I ran too many boost cycles on my SWG.

After the algae is dead, filtration gets rid of the cloud. Even the Intex sand filter is pretty small to clean up after an algae event. How much would it cost to refill the pool?

Yeah, that's what I'm doing now. The built in drains (used with garden hose attachments) are useless because of the slope of my yard. I've been using the Waste setting on my pump to drain/refill, but only down to the intake outlet so that's a tedious process. Guess I need to find a way to get a longer plastic hose to feed directly into the pool from the pump so I can actually drain it. I wonder if the 1.5" Intex setting is universal - meaning can I just go to a pool store and get a hose that will fit? Not thinking clearly right now as I am suffering from pool rage!

Do you have the Intex skimmer? I used to take the basket out and let the body of the skimmer sit on the floor to pump out the water when I had my Intex donut pool.
