    Question Aquarite "No Flow" light.

    Hello, all.

I'm on my third season with my Aquarite system with no complaints up to now. The "no flow" LED will not go out. It has usually blinked for the described 15 to 60 seconds then went out in the past but, not this time.

The system will not generate chlorine without the flow switch working.

    New flow switches are $100+.

    Any suggestions?

Have you removed the switch to inspect it yet? It is fairly easy to unscrew from the Tee. Also, if the orientation of the switch in the Tee is not correct, it will not work properly. There should be an arrow on the top of the switch near the wire that indicates the direction of water flow. This may need to be adjusted.

    Thank you for the response.

I did unscrew the switch and there is no apparent damage, corrosion, etc. The wire and "telephone type" connector appear to be undamaged as well. The switch is also correctly oriented to the proper flow direction.

I cannot do a "continuity check" since there are no open connections at the switch end. Therefore, I cannot test to see if there are any opens in the wire. It appears to be some sort of "inductance switch".

Are you making sure you have adequate flow. Any restrictions can trigger the light, whether it be a higher dp on the filter, running the vacuum, solar panels added if any. Any of these, or combination thereof could trigger the light.

    Thanks Pat.

Pump is producing as it was last season. Same pressure. Nothing has been altered or added to the system.
I have also backflushed the system to check if dp was a factor. No change.

I guess i'll have to give Aquarite a call on monday.

If you have checked everything I assume you are stuck with a bad sensor.

If it has been less than 3 years since you purchased it they will send you a new switch at no cost, if it has been less than 5 but more than 3 you will get 40% off the list price.

I had the same thing happen this spring when I opened my pool... I called Aquarite, and talked to them, and they diagnosed a bad switch over the phone... I had partial warranty left, so it cost me $50 to get a new one. I put it in, it solved the problem. FYI, I left that switch in during the winter, and that is probably what ruined it... did you leave yours in or take it out.

Just an FYI. You may not want to do it, but I got a blank "phone plug" and ran a loop wire between the two middle contacts and it fixed mine no problem. Of course, make sure you have flow etc. After I put my "plug" in I found out that mine was still under warranty. So I got one for free. (I still don't have it put in) The guy on the phone said mine would work fine as long as it was really flowing. Just unplug it during backwash. Just a quick and easy solution.

Talking Re: Aquarite "No Flow" light.

    Thank you all very much.

    The suggestions are very helpful.

Yes, I did leave the switch installed for the past 3 winters.

And that shorting tip was just what I was looking for !!

A new switch is on the way.

I'll keep you all up toi date as to the outcome.

    Cross your fingers.........................

Thumbs up Re: Aquarite "No Flow" light.

    Thanks to you all !!

That switch shorting trick was the ticket.

It got me up and going until the new switch arrived; which was the root of the problem.

    Again, thanks to you all.
