    Default Hayward Jet-action Cleaning Wand

Picked one of these up on a whim for $20. Just wondering if anyone's tried one and can review?

I intend to use it on my Perflex EC65 for a more thorough backwash, the idea being you can push it through the waste valve and spray upward toward the 'fingers'. At the end of last season I took the filter apart and was surprised how much DE was caked at the top of it despite regular backwashing.

If I don't hear from anyone, I'll do a before and after later this season.

    Thanks.

It works great. I use one on my EC65. Last year during first start up the filter clogged up a bit with DE. I used the wand for 5 mins or so allowing the DE and crap to fall out the waste hole and worked perfect for the entire season. I think I might have backwashed once after that last season.

I just used it again last night to give the inside a good cleaning. Pressure is now holding steady and the pool is crystal clear. It helped me solve the low pressure at the return jet problem I was having the other day.
