Default new pool, equipment seem ok??

I just signed a contract for a new in ground 20x34 size pool. It is listed at 17,700 gallons. Hayward equipment, 1.5 HP single speed pump, C3030 cartridge filter and a 250,000 BTU Hayward gas heater. Does the equipment seem OK? No SWCG.

Pump seems large for the size of pool. Plus it is not a two speed or VS. Unless you have a spa or water feature, there really is no reason for that size pump.

Then definitely up size the pipe. 1.5" is much too small for that kind of water flow unless there are multiple parallel 1.5" runs to each feature/return from the pad to the pool. But on the suction side, I would go with 2.5" pipe. Do you have a plumbing schematic you can post?
