I goofed up with the way I entered the links in my sig. It worked the first time, but when I changed it, everything got goof up. It's fixed now.Originally Posted by Watermom

There is not a calculation for how much Borax to add--re-read my above post about other variables affecting it. Your pH is fine at 7.2. If you're using trichlor or dichlor to shock, then stop using it, because that's what is driving your pH down. If you're using something else, just aerate your water and your pH will rise. Unless your pH is falling, and you're NOT using trichlor or dichlor and have to explanation for the drop, I wouldn't worry about the Borax for now.Originally Posted by BW-poolmom

How much borax do I add to bring the pH up a little (.2 or.3)
Thanks,
Beth
FYI here are my numbers
FC zero
CC zero
(I really shocked it 15+ before we left for a week It was still covered with pump running and it bottomed out before we got back)
Alk 110
pH 7.2
Cya 30
CA 150
I have a 17 x 33 above ground ( I think it is 18,000 gallons?)
Thanks,
Beth
Nevermind.
Just caught up on the thread. I will be happy with my 7.2 pH I guess.
Thanks,
Beth
FYI I was shocking with liquid bleach. Our water (well) is very acidic here so when I top off the pool it is what it is...
