If the water still appears somewhat green, I don't think you have completely killed all the algae. I would suggest shocking your pool up to 15 and holding it there. The key to killing algae is to sustain high cl levels. Test at least 2-3 times a day (more than that won't hurt) and each time, add enough bleach to get back to 15. Run your pump 24/7. I don't think you need to backwash daily unless your pressure is up 8-10psi.
