    Default closing question

i replaced my liner this year and had the pool filled by city water. i never could get the cya where it needed to be. i have added stablizer and still never could get it right. today my numbers are (these are all pool store readings..mine are about the same except i never could get a reading on cya and that's why i went to the pool store for water testing so i would at least have some idea where the cya is)
    chlorine 2.4
    fc 2.4
ph 8 (ph has ran high all summer even though i have tried to lower)
    ta 100
    cya 12

my question is...do i need to try to raise the cya again before i close or just go ahead and close with these numbers? the pool is crystal clear, no algae

Are you testing CYA with a Taylor K-2006 kit? There is no way to distinguish a CYA reading below 30 regardless of what your pool store tells you.

I would not bother with adding CYA at this point even if it is low. Just wait until spring.
