    Hi,

Have had my first summer in a house with a pool and have learnt a lot....especially how expensive these things are to run. Hoping to find some advice on converting the very useless electric heat exchanger to something both more effective and cheaper to run!

AFAIK the least expensive heaters are solar. I'm not sure if you get enough sun in the UK for a solar heater to work very well. I have a gas heater, and heating the pool full time is completely out of the question due to fuel cost. I had actually been considering converting to electric to save money.

Maybe someone else will have a better idea for you.
