Default Keeping pH stable with SWCG

I thought I post my experience with keeping pH stable when using a SWCG.

I use to follow the recommedation on my Taylor test kit and kept TA at about 100 (kit says 80-120, so I kept it right in the middle). At this level I had to add acid about once a week to keep pH in range (7.4-7.8).

I read somewhere here that keeping TA a bit lower would slow the pH rise, so last season I kept it at about 80-90. This time pH seemed to stabilize at about 7.8, so I didn't use near as much acid.

This season I noticed on the pool calculator that it recommended keeping TA 60-80, so this season I've kept it at about 70. This time the pH stabilized at about 7.5 and I haven't had to adjust the pH all season!

For reference, I also keep a borate level of about 60.

Did I mention I love this forum?
