I'm not certain if this is the correct forum for this question so I apologize if it's not.
We just finished the construction of our pool and we are now beginning the hard-scape/landscape process. One idea that my wife had was to add a pond-less waterfall near the pool. We opted not to add a waterfall to the pool itself for several reasons, mainly cost and I was concerned that a waterfall would disrupt the water chemistry. Also living in the Northeast we felt we would get more use out of a separate waterfall.
Our pool is a cement walled, vinyl IG , 44 x 24 free form. The pool deck will only go around 2/3 of the pool leaving the remaining 1/3 natural for plantings, etc. We would like to place a waterfall like this in this 1/3 natural area. The basin part of the waterfall would be about 6 feet from the edge of the pool. The waterfall uses a lined 4x6 basin filled with rocks to catch the water.
My concerns: is this placement too close to the pool and can it cause any problems with the pool wall? Are there any other issues with using a pond-less waterfall near a pool?
Thanks,
Anthony
