    Default Leak in pool

I don't know if I am posting incorrectly, I didn'nt get any answers, trying to be patient. We are still losing about half an inch of water each day. We are below skimmer and below the returns. We have a pool light that has had the light out, but no face plate on it for years.I am going to work with the pool place on getting that opening covered to eliminate tht. I went all around the upper part of liner and repaired a few small slits in the liner. Any other trouble shooting advice would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

Digger, check out www.leaktools .com. They have a lot of info about leak sources and leak detection strategies. I know Doc has suggested this site in the past.

Don't seal up the opening around the pool light. Water is meant to get around the light housing (into the niche that's part of the pool wall). It helps cool the lamp. Very unlikely that there is a leak inside the niche.

Could be a plumbing leak, notice any wet or soft spots in the yard?
