Default How to bond the pool - conflicting information...

This is my first post. I am mainly looking for information, but the email advice said to make a post so here it is. :-)

Need to bond the pool, and making sure I do it correctly. Does it need to be 18" away from the above ground pool walls? The install said it could be run along edge of the bottom of the pool (the ring that the wall sits in).

That will vary by local code and inspector. I'd ask the local electrical or building inspector. Better yet, hire a licensed electrician with pool experience in your area. You'll need him for the power supply (you really will), might as well let him install the bond as well.

He is probably referring setting up bonding like in this diagram:

Before you do it, you should check to see if there are any local codes or ordinances that specify how it must be done.
