Hi everyone. New to the forum, and relatively new to pool ownership, having bought a house with an in ground pool (16'x 34' rectangular vinyl pool).

I recently picked up a used Rocky's EZ Roller and solar cover, and since it won't fit under our low diving board and my wife would rather not have it positioned at the other end of the pool, I was considering placing the reel a few feet off the deck behind the diving board and elevating it a bit, which would mean it would have to come into light contact with the diving board as it is reeled in and out. I was thinking I could fashion a DIY "bumper" using pool noodles slit open length wise around the edge of the diving board to minimize snagging or damage to the cover.

Has anyone seen this type of thing? Any feedback appreciated.
