I think its recommended to replace reagents after 12 months - but it could be less if the chemicals are stored in a hot and/or humid area.

Can all the chemicals be purchased seperately when needed or is it more cost effective to replace the entire kit?

    Thanks, Ronnie

You can purchase them either way. Ben offers the refills separately, as well as grouped with the more frequently used reagents. You can also buy them separately at a pool store.
