Dave, I can almost garuantee that you have algae in your pool. The difference is that the algae in your pool is dead from a sufficient fc level and will soon be filtered outOriginally Posted by duraleigh

MY experience with pools is a lot different from most of the members here, I don't own one (the condo association won't let me put one in [and I think they're begining to suspect I put in the 2, 1000000 gal storage tanks, under the parking lot, for the water everyone sends me.]), usually the only reason I see a pool is because it needs to be built or there is a problem. I've never known the joy/ hastle of having my own pool. (I'm going to start a thread in China or Off topic on this) I wanted to make sure that Diane's cl levels were right, as she's a newbie, sometimes the 'simple fix' is the right one and I didn't know a way to give her what she needed.
However, I've come up with a possible pool solution. Without draining any water, use the bathtub strips (though the fish shaped ones would be more apropriate) but coat the back, glued, side with liner patch glue - (bonus - when applying the patch, or in this case, strips,- use a wallpaper roller to work out any wrinkles or air bubbles, works like magic!). Just my $.02, what do I know? - Ted
