I'm a bit confused - My login is accepted and it says I am allowed to post and reply, but when I click on a forum, it comes back that I don't have permission. I've sent in all my contact information...what am I missing??

As soon as your membership is upgraded, you'll be able to see and post in the rest of the forum. Until that time, however, this Getting Started section is all you have access to while you are logged in.
