    I went with the one the pool store had in stock and installed it last night. Nice and quiet. I will check the model number since you mentioned it.

    It seems a little smaller and cheaper than the pentair dynamo, but so are most things today compared to 10 years ago.

    I also bought more stabilizer. Mine is 30ppm or less and I need to put in about 1 bottle (3qt) of bleach a day. I will try to get it up to 50 or 60 and see how it goes.

    I wonder if anyone can use a 10 year old pump with a motor with bad bearings....

    If you were near by, I'd take that pump off your hands and throw new bearings on it and maybe make a coupla bucks, but, I can't see it worth the cost of shipping. My "new" pump is the Pac Fab Challengerm 1 hp, 2 speed. I believe it is the same as your old one. I agree that the quality of it seems above most of the haywards and other brands.
