All the post referencing Bens Best Guess chart have confiused me about FC levels. Aren't we shooting for 1.5 - 3ppm. Dont we run into problems when it starts getting higher( burning eyes, green hair)?

Higher stabilizer levels bind up chlorine, preventing it from working as effectively, leading the a higher reading to get the same effect as the range you suggested.
Basically, even though the suggested ranges are higher, they all have the same working ability.
Green hair is caused from copper in the water. Burning eyes is caused from chlorimines, used up chlorine that must be converted back to chlorine with higher levels. I suggest reading throught the tips on Ben's other site for more information about pools:
