Fiberglass pool or gunite

Was going to search instead of post a question that has no doubt been asked and addressed many times, but I see that I need to post first to show that I am actually a person and not a hack…
So, that's my question: which to choose? In the area I live, there aren't a lot of fiberglass installers to choose from. Seems like everyone does vinyl liner or gunite. I am intrigued by fiberglass because of the smooth surface and less time to install. I like that the pool is constructed in the factory, in a controlled environment. I don't need unlimited design options and have found several that would work by perusing many manufacturer's websites. But I just don't find a lot of what appears to be unbiased info on fiberglass out there.
I am also concerned because there don't appear to be any local installers when I search these manufacturer's websites. I'm thinking, this might be a clue to avoid fiberglass that I can't find anyone around where I live. Closest is in an adjacent state. They do serve my area, but costs would no doubt go up w the travel required.
Anyway, I'd love to hear from folks who have fiberglass, or even better, who have had both. It seems like there is a lot of bitter propaganda being perpetuated on the internet from BOTH sides of this issue.

I'll let others chime in here who may have experience having a fiberglass pool. But, I think you may have hit the nail on the head when you said that there aren't fiberglass installers in your area. I would want someone who was putting in a pool for me to have experience doing that type of installation.
