    Default Several answers

A friend does this every year, he floats the liner by putting the hose behind it and then pulling up to obtain slack, clips it back in the track using a product available at the pool store called liner lock, leaves a small opening through which he drains the water he used to flood and clips the last section back in - best left to a pro but he watched the pro once, paid attention, does it himself now.
The other way works if you don't need much slack to get it back in, that way is to pour hot water on the liner (pool side) and stretching it that half inch you need while it's hot, then, using liner lock, popping it back in.

    Hi, folks,

I am confused about something on AG pools. I assumed the frame was simply to support the liner and was, in no way, watertight itself.

If water behind the liner will float the liner, then the frame must be watertight. Aren't many of the AG pools metal framed? How do they get those watertight?

I learn everyday on this forum

    Wink no worries...

Hey, no worries, I get days like that too, think the "senior member" rating has anything to do with it????

Had the same damn thing happen in two spots in my 20x40 IG pool this year. I too used the flood behind the liner approach but could not float it enough as the pool is full - this works better if the water level is low. So, I got out the hair dryer and heated the liner (carefully) to allow it to stretch and got it back in the track with no problem.

BTW when my pool was built the builder did a very smart thing, he build a drywell sump under the deep end of the pool and connected into the return lines to the circulating pump. The line is normally valved out. When we get very heavy rains this allows me to open the valve (closing the valves from the pool) and use the circulating pump to pump the water out from under the pool to waste. This also works when you put water behind the liner for this sort of problem.
