    Default 6 or 8% bleach?

Hello, I have read in multiple places on this forum that if you are using bleach in your pool to use bleach that is 6% hyperchlorite. I have a vinyl lined Intex metal frame pool and am I having trouble finding bleach that is less than 8% hyperchlorite. Would this be terrible to put in my pool? Is there any sort of dosage accommodation to be made for more concentrated bleach? Thanks.

Either one is fine. Most of us used to use 6% because that was what most stores sold. Nowadays, they are typically selling 8.25%. There is a bleach calculator that may be helpful to you when you are figuring out doses to add to your pool. It is in the Forum Q & A section and is one of the stickied threads at the top of that section.
