    Default First pool test!

I thought I read pooldoc has a form to fill out for pool testing. Where do I find that?
I will go ahead and post #'s here if someone can tell me where to find the form for future reference.
    Thanks!
Finished filling pool on Friday following startup instructions from Pooldoc and have added borax and Poolbrand dichlor (1 dose) per night.
    Intex Ultra 18 ft. X 48" pool
tested using HTH 6 way kit

    Total Chlorine/Bromine 5-10
    Total Alkalinity 14
    Total pH 7.5
    Total Hardness 18
CYA test was inconclusive, water never turned cloudy after adding reagent.

Thanks again for your help! You guys have been awesome for this newbie!

I am new also. My test are almost the same as yours and my pool is still crystal clear after a week

You can ignore the bromine side of your tester since this is a chlorine pool.

It would be good if you had a kit that could measure your levels more accurately. A range of 5-10 on the chlorine is pretty vague. We recommend the Taylor K-2006 or 2006C which you can find in the test kit link in my signature below.

Did you mean alk of 140 instead of 14?

If your CYA test never turned cloudy, it means your CYA is less than 30 which cannot be detected.

Yes, you're right, 140 not 14, same with hardness, should be 190.
Is that bad having the CYA that low?

Not bad, but it just makes it hard to keep chlorine in the pool especially on hot sunny days. If you continue to follow the startup 'recipe,' your CYA will gradually come up because the dichlor has CYA in it.
